Job Description

 Well if you do then Smart recruitment may have the role to get your gears going. They are looking to expand their aerospace certification/design team and are looking for someone to become a key member of this team.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Ensure each contract complies with the appropriate certification and approvals. Liaising with customers and consultants at a knowledgeable level.
  • Develop a sub-project to manage and implement the above.
  • Deliver project stages within agreed timescale and budget.
  • Carry out the processes required to complete the certification and/or manage others to complete this. Writing reports to the appropriate standard.
  • Implement a process that is self-sustaining to ensure future compliance.
  • Complete 3D CAD work and associated 2D drawings as required.
  • Work within an environment certified to ISO 9001 and help demonstrate compliancy to AS9100 for the design department if required.
  • Ability to link theoretical analysis results to practical design decisions.

Key Skills:

  • Sound knowledge of engine systems
  • Aerospace design practices and certification

Typical standards applied include:

  • STANAG4702 / AEP 83 Unmanned aircraft
  • EASA Approval
  • SAE ARP 4701 Safety Assessment
  • RTCA/DO160 Environmental standard
  • RTCA/DO178C Software

  • Safety processes e.g. FMECA and FTA is essential
  • SolidWorks or equivalent CAD systems EPDM and MRP systems-to create 2D drawings, and 3D models
  • Excellent communication skills, organisational skills and a high sense of responsibility and accountability
  • Some experience with electrical systems, software and firmware. Design (Safety) Engineer V5 24th July 2019 is Desirable
