Job Description
Smart Recruitment are seeking a Production Engineer to work for a growing manufacturing business in Crewkerne.

It is working for a market leading manufacturing company who need permanent members of staff that they can invest time and training in. They require a production engineer who is flexible to become involved in a variety of production and maintenance related activities. The company manufacture a variety of products that need to be assembled using various equipment that needs to be maintained, calibrated and developed.

Key activities will include:
• Creating assembly fixtures and jigs – CAD experience and / or laser cutting experience
• Maintaining site fittings, fixtures, equipment, tools and machinery according to a planned schedule
• Monitoring and advising on stock of tools, equipment and materials
• Supporting the production team leaders with the supervision of production staff and their usage of technical machinery

To be successful in this role you will need to have:
• Technical capability across a wide range of assembly machinery, and bench tool usage (series and sonic welding, laser cutting, desktop CNC Milling, resistance spot welding machines, potting)
• Mechanical intuition / mechanical knowledge
• The ability to manage a computer based maintenance schedule
• An appreciation of 5S standards and procedures.

You would have your own maintenance area / office, and the role is based in a light, airy and modern manufacturing area. The radio is on, everyone works together and the atmosphere is great. There is also free parking and an on-site canteen area.

The hours of work are on day shift, 39 per week Monday to Thursday 07.15 to 16.15 and Friday 07:15 to 12:15.
