Job Description

Smart Recruitment are currently recruiting for an HR Officer to work for our well established engineering client in South Somerset, on a 6 month fixed-term basis. The core requirements of the role
are to provide a comprehensive, confidential administrative and secretarial support service to the Human Resources Manager, in order to deliver a complete Human Resources service to the Company.

This post is a key part of the HR function in ensuring that administrative support for the various HR operations is maintained in an effective, controlled and organised way. This includes providing a first line enquiry and problem solving service and actively assisting with talent acquisition, development and retention. It is an excellent opportunity for someone to gain great exposure to, and experience of, a complex manufacturing environments HR function, and to work alongside an experienced HR Manager. It is fast paced, changeable, and you need to have a degree of robustness to be successful. Ideally you will have the following:

1. Proven experience in HR, preferably within a fast paced manufacturing environment
2. Preferably degree qualified in HR, Business or Management discipline and supported by CIPD certification (or working towards)
3. Experience of working in a Generalist HR role
4. Working knowledge of employment law
5. High level of customer focus
6. Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to forge good working relationships at all levels within the organisation
7. Innovative
8. Structured approach with strong planning and organisational skills
9. Flexible to accommodate ever changing working environment and demands placed upon it in a positive manner
