I refer to xxx who was temping for me for the past couple of weeks and wanted to take this opportunity to say what a pleasure he was to have on my team. I found him to be polite, helpful, accurate, friendly and willing and although I am happy to have my full time receptionist back in post this week due to her experience and knowledge, I can honestly say that I would have gladly employed xxx for a much longer period.

I would not wish to embarrass him and you can rest assured that we sent him away with our thanks but I would be grateful if you could pass the gist of my comments on to him as it is always nice to know you are appreciated.
