When writing a CV it is imperative that you produce a page that is clear and represents you in the best light to your prospective employer. As with most things your employer isnt going to wade through pages of information about you. They want to know why you would be the best candidate for the job and you need to be able to give them that in a bite sized CV of one or two sides.
Before writing a CV consider.
Before you even start writing your perfect CV there are a few things that you should consider.
- As mentioned before, keep it brief, you need to give only enough information, so that the employer wants to find out more about you.
- Research the job, so that you have an idea of the minimum educational requirements, and know that you can survive on the starting salary of the job. Use the internet as a resource to find out information, or if you know people within the type of work you are interested in, find out what they are doing everyday and what they feel is the most important credential for the job.
If the company you are going to work for has a web site, look at the information given on it, so that you can get a better feel for how the business wants to be seen. This will help you tailor your CV to pick up on the businesses ethos and show that you have put in some work, before going along to the interview.
